[:en]Why is it important?

When Jesus called us to love our neighbor, he gave us a task that is possible for each one of us and is also a blessing for each one of us. Many people around us might feel isolated or don’t feel a sense of belonging (maybe including us), and each one of us can bring change to that. You will see how loving your neighbor will change those things and also the relationships but also how it will give you a greater love for the people around you. It will leave a great impact and it builds a strong and lasting community for your neighbors and you as well to just name a few things. When I think back to last year and how the pandemic affected everyone around the world we saw more and more 1. the need of bringing God’s love to our local places and 2. How important it is to be connected with our neighbors. We got reminded of the call from Jesus also because our neighborhoods were the only places we could go to. So let’s all do this together starting today to take Jesus seriously and love our neighbor. We will give you a monthly tip with how to establish that relationship and love your neighbors in a practical way and then we will all put it into action with the neighbors right around us.  And then watch how over time your neighborhood will change! You, me, and all of us can do it so let’s do it!!

Our tip for this month is to help an older neighbor with their backyard! Watch the video with some tips on that!

Getting away to rest – even for a short time and a regular weekly day of rest is so important for all of us. I love how it talks many times in scripture how Jesus went away to rest. Rest is an important thing and God set it in place from the beginning of everything when he rested on the 7^th day. Our family got to spend a few days this week away from the city in Santa Rosa. Our YWAM friends there had a church open up an apartment for them for missionaries to use to rest. It was such a wonderful time. We got to swim in a lake, hike in a local park, sit in the backyard to read and had some wonderful food including a breakfast at a local American/Mexican diner. We all feel so refreshed and strengthened from that time away from the city. We want to encourage you to put in your schedule times of rest and times of being away. And don’t let money hold you away from it either, there are many ways to get away really cheap! If you need some ideas about that email me!!

 [:de]Wieso ist es wichtig?

Als Jesus uns dazu berufen hat unseren Nächsten (Nachbarn) zu lieben, gab er uns eine Aufgabe die für jeden von uns möglich ist und gleichzeitig auch ein Segen für uns ist. Viele Menschen in unserem Umfeld fühlen sich oftmals einsam oder haben nicht das Gefühl das sie dazugehören (vielleicht fühlen wir uns auch selber manchmal so) und jeder von uns kann Veränderung in diesem Bereich bringen. Du wirst sehen wie sich diese Dinge und die Beziehungen mit Nachbarn verändern, wenn wir sie lieben, und wie auch wir selber eine größere Liebe für unsere Nachbarn haben. Es wird einen großen Eindruck hinterlassen und eine starke Gemeinschaft aufbauen für dich und sie um nur einige Dinge zu nennen. Wenn ich zum letzten Jahr zurückdenke und wie die Corona Virus Situation jeden auf der Welt traf sah man auch mehr und mehr 1. wie wichtig es ist die Liebe Gottes auch zu unseren Wohngebieten zu bringen und 2. Wie wichtig es ist mit unseren Nachbarn verbunden zu sein. Es war eine gute Erinnerung an Jesus Auftrag speziell auch deshalb da wir nicht wirklich woanders hingehen konnten. Lasst uns dies zusammentun und Jesus Auftrag unseren Nächsten/ Nachbarn zu lieben ernst nehmen. Wir werden jeden Monat einen Tipp posten wie Beziehungen aufgebaut werden können und wie wir praktisch unsere Nachbarn lieben können. Und dann werden wir das ganze aktiv mit unseren Nachbarn leben. Dann pass auf und sehe wie sich mit der Zeit deine Wohngegend verändert! Jeder von uns kann es tun deshalb lasst uns aktiv werden, Du, ich und jeder einzelne von uns!!

Hallo Freunde

Urlaub, selbst für eine kurze Zeit, und ein wöchentlicher Ruhetag ist so wichtig für jeden von uns. Ich liebe es in der Bibel wie es oftmals von Jesus spricht wie er von Zeit zu Zeit wegging um sich auszuruhen. Ruhe ist eine wichtige Sache und Gott hat sie seit dem Anfang der Welt eingeführt in dem er am 7. Tage ruhte. Unsere Familie konnte letzte Woche einige Tage in Santa Rosa verbringen. Unsere YWAM Freunde dort haben von einer Gemeinde eine Wohnung zur Verfügung gestellt bekommen das sich Missionare erholen können. Wir hatten eine super Zeit. Wir schwammen in einem See, wanderten in einem Park, saßen im Garten und lasen und hatten wunderbares essen inklusive einem amerikanisch/mexikanischen Diner Frühstück. Wir kamen von dieser Zeit außerhalb der Stadt erfrischt zurück. Wir möchten auch dich ermutigen Zeit in deinen Kalender einzuplanen um Ruhe zu finden und auch in den Urlaub zu gehen. Lass dich nicht von Geld zurückhalten, es gibt viele Wege sehr billig Urlaub zu machen. Falls du einige Ideen dafür haben möchtest schreib mir eine E-Mail!!

Vergiss auch nicht die moantliche Liebe deinen Nachbarn Herausforderung; biete einem älteren Nachbarn deine Hilfe mit der Gartenarbeit an!
