[:en]How did your week go? Did your heart change towards people by inviting them?
Recently we celebrated the 500th anniversary of reformation day. The day Luther nailed 95 theses at the door of the church in Wittenberg. He did it so people would have the opportunity to know the full truth and that the church could be reformed. Luther called for repentance and change. At the time people were given wrong information about salvation (the church leaders at that time were more about power, politics and money then about Jesus)and through that they always lived in fear. With Luther bringing the truth and also translating the bible he enabled people to read for themselves and understand what Jesus did for them. He also changed the church.
This is as relevant today as it was 500 years ago. 500 years ago people were misinformed about Jesus as they are today. Many people just hear about Christianity in the context of politics or negativity, but not the gospel message of salvation and hope. How do people want to choose Jesus if they have all the wrong ideas about Him? We need to bring a new reformation in the sense that people really know the full picture and understand Jesus and why he is important for them. This can only come out of honest and real conversation and also by seeing it through the way we live our lives. And when people hear the full gospel, they can make a decision for themselves. Its not our job to force them to do something, no they just have to fall in love with Jesus themselves and choose Him. But again we are all called to give our neighbor friends the full picture.
We want to encourage you this week to show Jesus through little acts of kindness and maybe talk with a neighbor friend about your faith in Jesus and what He means to you. Don’t pressure, just share openly and honest how you feel. That’s all you have to do. Making a decision is up to our friends!

We hope your week was wonderful. We had a big Reformation day celebration with German food, a quiz all around Luther and his life and then we watched the movie Luther. All of us were inspired by his heart for God and to stand up against injustice. We also had different other events like a brunch and a potato night which were all really wonderful. It’s wonderful to see how more and more community forms when you truly love people and show them that you care about them!
Start this new week with a reformation in your heart and from that let it shine to your neighbors!

Markus and Jen[:de]Wie war deine Woche? Hat sich dein Herz zu deinen Nachbarn verändert indem du sie eingeladen hast?
Vor kurzem feierten wir 500 Jahre seit der Reformation. Der Tag an dem Luther 95 Thesen an die Kirchen Tür in Wittenberg nagelte. Er tat es das Menschen die Möglichkeit haben die ganze Wahrheit zu erfahren und das die Kirche reformiert wird. Luther rief zur Busse und zur Veränderung auf. Zu dieser Zeit wurden Menschen falsche Informationen zur Errettung gegeben (die Kirchen Leiter zu dieser Zeit waren mehr aus nach Macht, politscher Leitung und Geld als nach Jesus) und dadurch lebten viele in Angst. Indem Luther die Wahrheit brachte und die Bibel übersetzte gab er Menschen die Möglichkeit alles selber zu lesen und selber zu verstehen was Jesus für sie getan hat. Er veränderte damit auch die Kirche.
Dies ist auch relevant 500 Jahre später. Vor 500 Jahren waren Menschen misinformiert über Jesus wie auch heutzutage. Viele hören Christentum im Zusammenhang mit negativem, aber nicht das Evangelium von Errettung und Hoffnung. Wie wollen Menschen eine Entscheidung für Jesus treffen wenn sie ein total falsches Bild von ihm haben? Wir brauchen eine neue Reformation im Sinne davon das Menschen wieder das ganze Bild kennen und wieder Jesus verstehen und wieso er so wichtig für uns ist. Dies kann nur aus ehrlichen und offenen Gesprächen kommen und indem sie sehen wie wir unser Leben leben. Und wenn Menschen das ganze Evangelium hören, können sie eine Entscheidung für sich selber treffen. Es ist nicht unsere Aufgabe jemanden zu zwingen eine Entscheidung zu treffen, nein sie müssen sich nur selber in Jesus verlieben und ihn für ihr Leben wählen. Aber noch einmal jeder von uns ist berufen unseren Nachbar Freunden das ganze Bild zu geben!
Wir möchten dich ermutigen Jesus durch kleine Taten andern zu zeigen und sprich mit einem Nachbarn über deinen Glauben in Jesus und was Er dir bedeutet. Übe keine Druck aus, erzähle nur offen und ehrlich. Das ist alles was du tun kannst. Eine Entscheidung muss jeder für sich selber treffen.

Wir hoffen deine Woche war super! Wir hatten eine Feier bei uns in der Wohnung zum Reformations Tag mit deutschem Essen, einem Quiz über Luther und die Reformation und dann schauten wir uns den Film Luther an. Jeder von uns wurde ermutigt und inspiriert von seiner Liebe für Gott und sein Herz gegen Ungerechtigkeit vorzugehen. Wir hatten auch noch einen Kartoffel Abend und einen Brunch welche auch super waren. Es ist genial zu sehen wie mehr und mehr Gemeinschaft entsteht wenn du Menschen wirklich liebst und ihnen zeigst das sie dir wichtig sind!
Lass uns diese Woche mit einer Reformation in unserem Herzen starten und von dort lass es zu unseren Nachbarn scheinen!
