We cant believe it that January is already over. It felt like January went by in the fifth gear 🙂 How was your January? Did it go as fast as ours?

Last week we were teaching in the Discipleship Training school on on the Topic Relationships and Friendship. It was an exciting weekend with teaching sessions and times with the students. Relationship is such an important topic especially in todays time!

We also had wonderful times in our neighborhood!! God is awesome!!

Wir können es nicht glauben dass der Januar bereits vergangen ist. Dieses Jahr ist definitiv bereits im 5. Gang vorwärts gegangen 🙂 Wie war dein Januar ist er auch so schnell vergangen.

Letzte Woche unterrichteten wir in der Jungerschaftsschule ĂĽber das Thema Beziehung und Freundschaften. Es war ein spannendes Wochenende mit vielen wunderbaren Zeiten des Unterrichts als auch Zeit mit den Studenten. Beziehung ist so ein wichtiges Thema in der heutigen Zeit.

Wir hatten auch wieder tolle Momente bei uns im Wohngebiet. Gott ist super!!

Vergiss diese Woche nicht das etwas unlogisches Sinn macht!!

Isn’t it amazing to know that we are loved by Father God! When we go through our weeks like that it just brings so much more hope and it also gives us more love for others in our neighborhood and homes. We feel that ourselves so much in our lives through having more and more love for our neighbors and all the different places we serve in our our neighborhood.

We also had a wonderful first meeting with all the bay area ministries last week were prayed for each other and just worshipped God together. It was such a good start into the new year for everyone.

We want to encourage you like we said in the blog above to share the good news with a neighbor or someone you are in touch with. Bring change to generations!!

Ist es nicht genial zu wissen das wir von Gott unserem Vater geliebt sind! Wenn wir so durch unsere Wochen gehen finden wir soviel Hoffnung und es gibt uns gleichzeitig auch soviel Liebe fĂĽr andere in unserem Wohngebiet und unserem Zuhause. Wir erleben dies selber in unserem Leben indem wir mehr und mehr Liebe fĂĽr Nachbarn und Menschen an den anderen Orten an denen wir helfen haben.

Wir hatten auch ein wunderbares erstes Treffen aller Leiter der verschiedenen YWAM Arbeiten im Bay Area. Wir beteten zusammen fĂĽreinander und lobt en Gott. Es war ein super Start fĂĽr dieses Team ins neue Jahr!

Wir möchten dich ermutigen wie wir schon im Blog sagten, die gute Nachricht mit einem Nachbarn oder jemand anderem mit dem du eine Freundschaft hast zu teilen! Bring Veränderung zu Generationen.

[:en]Encouragement in trials for others[:de]Ermutigung für andere in Schwierigkeiten und Bedrängnis[:]

Praised be God, Father of our Lord Yeshua The Messiah, Compassionate Father, God of all encouragement and comfort; who encourages us in all our trials,… so that we can encourage others in whatever trials they may be undergoing with the encouragement we ourselves have received from God.

2. Corinthians 1.3-4 (The complete Jewish Study Bible)

Last week we wrote about how God is with us in trials and how he brings comfort and encouragement in the middle of them. Today we want to look at the second part of the verse where Paul focuses on others. So when we go through trials and we receive encouragement from God it is not just for us. It is also meant to help others. Even Paul went through many trials in his life, he encouraged so many while still being in them. By doing that he actually helped others to grow in their faith and be encouraged by the fact that God is also with them.

Last week I talked about 2 approaches of 2 trials and the different outcomes for me. Looking at the second one where I leaned on God in the process and got encouragement and comfort from him didn’t just do well for me but also to others. A while after I went through this situation I was able to share with others how God comforted me and encouraged me in that season and how much it changed and helped me. Through that, they got encouraged and started to be hopeful for the trials they were in.

God is using the testimonies of our lives to help others be encouraged in their situations and to bring courage to them that they will also be able to make it through. So our victories God gave us can become victories for others.

We want to encourage you to share with others how God helped you through trials and comforted and encouraged you in them. Take courage and talk about the challenging times and how you were not alone!

Letzte Woche schrieben wir darĂĽber wie Gott bei uns ist in Schwierigkeiten und Ermutigung und Trost gibt. Heute wollen wir uns den 2. Teil des Verses anschauen wo Paulus seinen Fokus auf andere legt. Wenn wir durch Schwierigkeiten gehen und Ermutigung und Trost von Gott bekommen ist dieser nicht nur fĂĽr uns, nein dies ist auch dafĂĽr da anderen zu helfen. Selbst als Paulus durch viele Schwierigkeiten in seinem Leben ging und mitten drin war, ermutigte er viele. Da er das in diesem Moment getan hat, hat Er anderen geholfen in ihrem Glauben zu wachsen und ermutigt zu sein das auch Gott bei ihnen ist.

Letzte Woche sprach ich von 2 Situationen die unterschiedliche Resultate in meinem Leben hervorbrachten. In der 2. Situation sehen wir wie Gott mich ermutigte und Trost geschenkt hat da ich mein Vertrauen auf ihn setzte. Aber nicht nur das, nein dadurch sahen auch andere in meinem Leben seine Ermutigung und wurden selber dadurch ermutigt fĂĽr Schwierigkeiten in denen sie waren.

Gott nutzt unser Zeugnis um anderen in ihrem Leben Ermutigung zu schenken und ihnen Mut zu geben das auch sie es durchschaffen werden. Unsere Siege die uns Gott geschenkt hat können dann auch zu Siege für andere werden.

Wir möchten dich ermutigen anderen davon zu erzählen wie Gott dir in Schwierigkeiten durchgeholfen hat durch Ermutigung und Trost. Sei mutig und sprich darüber das du nicht alleine warst!

When we think of trial pretty much all of us are not excited about it. Trials are usually times that are hard or challenging for us, times where we often don’t know how to make it through and we don’t know how it ends. But trials are part of life and we can’t or should not avoid them and stay true to what we believe. Paul was a man who went through many trials in his life if its time in prison or people turning on him. But Paul points out an important fact, God is with us in the trials and He is the one who will encourage and comfort us in the middle of it and gives us hope. That is pretty amazing. Many people in this world go through hard times but have no one that encourages them or helps them through. But for all who know God, the creator of the earth, they can be affirmed that He stands right at our side and helps us through.

It reminds me of 2 hard situations and trials in my life. In one of them, I decided to be mad at God and just not listen to him about this situation. For many years that situation kept affecting me negatively and I felt hopeless.  I had a hard time trusting God and it partially robbed me of joy. The second situation I decided to ask God and let him help me through and the outcome was so different. Yes, it was still hard, but through his encouragement and comfort I was able to make it through with hope and I came out stronger at the end.

If you walk with God through trials you come out stronger than before. We want to encourage you that through whatever trials you might be going through to ask God for encouragement. He is right at your side to help you through!!

Wenn wir an Schwierigkeiten und Bedrängnis denken bringt dies nicht unbedingt  Freude in uns auf. Dies sind meistens Zeiten die herausfordernd und schwer für uns sind, und oftmals wissen wir nicht wie wir es durch diese schaffen sollen und wie es endet. Aber diese Dinge sind ein Teil des Lebens und wir sollten und können sie nicht umgehen und sollten zudem stehen was wir glauben. Paulus war ein Mann der der durch viele Bedrängnisse in seinem Leben ging, ob es das Gefängnis war oder das Freunde sich gegen ihn wandten. Aber Paulus zeigt uns einen wichtige Wahrheit; Gott ist bei uns in diesen Zeiten und Er gibt uns Ermutigung und Trost in der Mitte von all dem und schenkt Hoffnung. Das ist genial! Viele Menschen in dieser Welt gehen durch Bedrängnisse aber haben niemanden der sie ermutigt und ihnen durchhilft. Aber für alle die Gott kennen, den Schöpfer der Erde, können sich sicher sein das Er an ihrer Seite geht und ihnen durchhilft.

Ich erinnere mich an 2 solcher Situationen in meinem Leben. Bei einer wählte ich sauer auf Gott zu sein und einfacht nicht auf ihn zu hoeren wegen dieser Situation. Für viele Jahre bewegte mich diese Situation negativ und ich fuehlte mich oftmals hoffnungslos. Ich hatte Schwierigkeiten Gott zu vertrauen und viele Freude wurde dadurch von mir gestohlen. In der 2. Situation fragte ich Gott und lies ihn mir durchhelfen und das Resultat war total anders. Ja es war trotzdem schwer in der Situation aber durch die Ermutigung und Trost von Ihm konnte ich Hoffnung haben und am Schluss stärker herauskommen.

Wenn du mit Gott durch Schwierigkeiten wirst du stärker am Ende herauskommen. Wir wollen dich ermutigen das ganz egal durch welche Schwierigkeiten zu Gott für Ermutigung und Trost zu gehen. Er ist direkt an deiner Seite um dir durchzuhelfen!

First of all if you didn’t read the last Blog we want to wish you a blessed and happy new year! We had a wonderful few days with family in Pennsylvania and got back on New years eve to San Francisco to a lot of firework. When we got back we had a few days with friends. Sadly at the end of the week both of us got sick with a cold. pray with us for quick recovery! But we are excited for this new year and all the awesome things God has planned for it. Our prayer for this year is, that more people in our neighborhood and your neighborhood experience His love through you and us and fall in love with Him. Lets love on our neighbors extra in the year 2019!!

Markus and Jen[:de]Im ersten Blog des Jahres 2019 geht es um ein sehr wichtiges Thema, das uns helfen kann  Beziehungen zu verbessern und zu vertiefen.  Sei dadurch gesegnet!

Hallo unser Freund/in

Zuerst einmal falls du den letzten Blog nicht gelesen hast wollen wir dir ein frohes und gesegnetes Jahr 2019 wünschen. Wir hatten ein paar schöne Tage in Pennsylvania und kamen dann Silvester Abend zurück zum Feuerwerk in San Francisco. Wir hatten dann noch einige Tage frei die wir mit Freunden und dann krank im Bett mit Grippe verbrachten. Bitte bete mit uns fuer schnelle Heilung.

Wir freuen uns auf dieses neue Jahr und die Dinge die Gott geplant hat. Unser Gebet für dieses Jahr ist das mehr Menschen in deinem und unserem Wohngebiet seine Liebe durch dich und uns erleben können und das sie anfangen ihn zu lieben! Lasst uns unsere Nachbarn extra lieben im Jahr 2019.

[:en]Seek peace and pursue it[:de]Suche Frieden und jage ihm nach[:]

… seek peace and pursue it. Psalm 34.14

What a perfect verse was chosen in the German church as the verse for the year 2019. Seeking peace and also pursuing it is so focused on an action of each one of us. A little while ago we heard a speaker share about how he seeks peace between Israeli and Palestinians and how much breakthrough he has seen over the years. But it took an action on his side to bring people together and to keep pursuing peace between them. He didn’t start through politics or a big media engagement, no he just brought youth from both sides together to meet and start understanding each other. Did it bring total peace for everyone yet? No but the people he brought together understand each other now and are connected through a friendship and started to reconcile.

So it always takes an action from us. We can’t wait for politicians or leaders to make the first step. We have to start doing it. We are the ones who can bring reconciliation through the love of Jesus, not just once but on a regular basis. We can change our neighborhoods by seeking peace but then also pursuing it. I think sometimes we approach a situation and want to bring peace between 2 people, but then it doesn’t happen and then we give up. But we need to keep pursuing it. The speaker I mentioned earlier is working on it for many many years sometimes with little results. But he keeps pursuing it.

Lets print out this verse and put it somewhere where we see it first thing in the morning and then at the end of the day so we are reminded about it. And then let us let 2019 be a year were we carry actively and consistent reconciliation and peace into our neighborhoods, homes and work places. Have a blessed new year!!!

2018 was a year with many ups and downs for us and many others. It was a year, were we saw God move in so many areas in our lives as well as ministry. Thank you God for 2018 and that we could partner with you. Take some time to reflect on your 2018 and ask God to show you how He was with you in all of it. It is such a great way to start a new year. With that we wish you a blessed new year 2019. May you have a wonderful start and may it get even better as it goes forward. Remember that you are amazing and loved!!

Markus and Jen[:de]… Suche Frieden und jage ihm nach. Psalm 34.15

Was für ein wichtiger Vers wir als Jahreslosung für das Jahr 2019 haben. Frieden zu suchen und ihm nachzujagen ist keine passive sondern aktive Aufgabe für jeden einzelnen von uns. Vor einiger Zeit waren wir bei einem Vortrag von einem Mann der aktiv daran arbeitet Frieden zwischen Palästinensern und Israelis zu bringen und wie er immer mehr Frieden sehen durfte. Aber er musste aktiv daran arbeiten das Frieden kommen konnte. Er fing nicht durch Politik oder einer großen Medien Show an, nein er brachte Jugendliche von beiden Seiten zusammen um sich kennenzulernen und sich gegenseitig zu verstehen. Brachte es totalen Frieden für beide Länder? Nein, aber die Menschen die er zusammen brachte verstehen sich jetzt und sind durch eine Freundschaft verbunden und haben angefangen sich zu versöhnen.

Es braucht immer einen aktiven Schritt von uns. Wir können nicht auf Politiker warten dass sie den ersten Schritt tun. Wir müssen anfangen ihn zu tun. Wir sind die, die Versöhnung bringen können durch die Liebe Jesus, nicht nur einmal sondern regelmäßig. Wir können unsere Wohngebiete und Beziehungen zwischen Nachbarn verändern indem wir Wege für den Frieden suchen und helfen bis Friede da ist. Ich denke manchmal versuchen wir Frieden zu bringen und wenn es nicht gleich klappt geben wir auf. Aber wir müssen dranbleiben und nicht aufgeben. Der Sprecher von dem ich vorher schrieb tat es für eine lange Zeit manchmal ohne Resultat, aber er gibt nicht auf!!

Lasst uns diesen Vers ausdrucken und an einer Stelle aufhängen wo wir ihn morgens als erstes sehen und am Ende des Tages so dass wir immer daran erinnert werden. Und dann lass 2019 ein Jahr sein indem wir aktiv Versöhnung und Frieden in unsere Wohngegenden, Häuser und Arbeitsplätze bringen. Habe ein gesegnetes Jahr!

2018 war ein Jahr mit vielen Höhen und Tiefen und mit allem anderen zwischendrin. Es war ein Jahr wo wir Gott in so vielen Bereichen persönlich als auch in der Arbeit wirken sahen. Danke Gott für das Jahr 2018 und das wir mit dir zusammen arbeiten konnten.  Nimm dir Zeit ein wenig auf dein Jahr zurückzublicken und frag Gott wie er in allen Bereichen bei dir war. Es ist ein guter Weg das neue Jahr anzufangen. Auf diesem Weg möchten wir dir ein gesegnetes  neues Jahr 2019 wünschen. Wir wünschen dir einen super Start und möge es ab dann noch besser werden!! Vergiss nicht das du wunderbar und geliebt bist!

First of all we want to wish you a merry and blessed Christmas!! We had a wonderful last week before Christmas and are excited for our Christmas celebration with our neighbor friends. Every year for Christmas Eve or Christmas day we celebrate Christmas with a nice dinner with neighbors and others from the neighborhood. It’s an equal blessing for the ones who come and for us. God wants to bring community through each one of us. May your family grow by adding neighbors to it. A blessing for you and for them!

May this Christmas time be a time of refreshment and deeper relationship with family and Father God. Be richly blessed!!

Zuerst einmal wünschen wir dir frohe und gesegnete Weihnachten!! Wir hatten eine gute letzte Woche vor Weihnachten und freuen uns nun auf unser Weihnachtsfest mit Nachbarn. Wir haben jedes Jahr entweder am Heiligabend oder am 1. Feiertag eine Weihnachtsfeier bei uns in der Wohnung mit Nachbarn und anderen Bekannten aus unserer Gegend. Es ist jedes Jahr ein großer Segen für uns als auch für sie. Gott kann Gemeinschaft durch jeden einzelnen von uns bringen. Möge deine Familie wachsen indem du deine Nachbarn einen Teil deiner Familie machst. Ein Segen für dich als auch für sie.

Möge dies Weihnachtszeit eine Zeit der Erholung und der tieferen Beziehung mit deiner Familie und mit Gott für dich sein. Sei reichlich gesegnet!!

We are already close to Christmas and we hope that you enjoy this pre-Christmas season!! We are busy with all of our normal things going on and then Christmas celebrations and preparation for Christmas. It’s a wonderful season and also a great time to talk about our faith since we all know that the foundations of Christmas lay in what we believe. We want to encourage you too, to use this opportunity to share why Christmas is important to you. Let the Holy spirit lead you when you share so that you have the right words that makes sense for each one you talk to. Every person understands a little bit different since all of us are different. Get started!!

Nun ist es nicht mehr weit bis Weihnachten und wir hoffen das du diese Vorweihnachtszeit genießen kannst! Wir sind beschäftigt mit unseren normalen Aufgaben hier als auch Vorbereitungen für Weihnachten und die verschiedensten Weihnachtsfeiern. Diese Zeit ist auch immer eine gute Zeit um über den Glauben zu reden da Weihnachten ja ganz klar ein Feiertag mit dem Ursprung in unserem Glauben ist. Wir möchten dich ermutigen auch darüber zu sprechen wieso Weihnachten wichtig für dich ist. Lass dich vom heiligen Geist leiten das er dir die richtigen Worte gibt so dass diese Sinn für den machen mit dem du redest. Jeder versteht es auf eine andere Weise da wir ja alle unterschiedlich sind. Leg los!!

We are getting ready for that time of the year with Christmas celebrations, writing cards and baking for our wonderful neighbor friends and ending the season with a Christmas meal on the 24th. It is also a time of reflecting on what Christmas means to us personally and share it with others. Its such a wonderful time celebrating the days leading up to Jesus birthday! We are excited!! So what are your plans for this season? How are getting ready for the celebration of Jesus birthday? Make sure to invite others (neighbors) in for your celebration so they can be blessed through the good news of Christmas!!

How was your week? We hope fantastic. Our week in San Francisco was wonderful and included a lot of cooking!! We hosted wonderful Thanksgiving celebration here with neighbors. It is so wonderful being a part of such a wonderful community. Its wonderful to see how a thanksgiving meal can give family to the ones that don’t have any or the ones that are too far away from them including us. We want to encourage you to invite neighbors to your holiday celebrations. Its such a huge blessing!!

So don’t forget that we are going with our brothers and sisters towards the same goal so lets work together!!

Hallo unser Freund/in

Wie war deine Woche? Wir hoffen fantastisch! Unsere Woche in San Francisco bestand sehr viel aus kochen!! Wir hatten ein großes Thanksgiving Fest bei uns in der Wohnung mit Nachbarn. Es ist genial so eine Gemeinschaft zu sehen und ein Teil davon zu sein. Viele haben keine Familie oder die Familie wohnt zu weit weg, daher ist es super das wir Familie sein können. Wir möchten dich ermutigen in dieser Weihnachtszeit Nachbarn einzuladen. Es ist so ein Segen!!

Vergiss nicht das wir mit unseren Geschwistern ans gleiche Ziel gehen daher lasst uns zusammen arbeiten!!
