[:en]In this weeks blog we are partially looking at an important man in the Old Testament, Joshua. Be encouraged!

Hi our friend

We hope you had a super week!! Ours in San Francisco was exciting. We had dinner with a friend from the neighborhood which was encouraging. Then we prepped for our time speaking at our church on Sunday which went really well. We got a lot of really good responses of people that they felt inspired to love their neighbors. On Saturday we had our neighbor brunch which literally filled our table up to the last seat and I had to put a little chair up at the corner. That is a good problem to have! Sunday night we got to watch the Superbowl together with our church family and our San Francisco team was in it, but sadly they lost. But it was still a wonderful time! with dinners a neighbor brunch we hosted that filled up every seat around our table, speaking at our church and a Superbowl party with our church friends. It was such a wonderful time.

Remember this week to ask for Gods guidance not just at the beginning but all along the way and at all major decisions.

Hallo unser Freund/in

Wie war deine Woche? Unsere in San Francisco war toll! Wir hatten ein Abendessen mit einem Nachbarn was super viel Spaß machte. Dann bereiteten wir uns auf unsere Predigt am Sonntag vor welche sehr gut verlief. Wir bekamen viele positive Rückmeldungen das viele sehr inspiriert wurden ihre Nachbarn zu lieben und auch praktische Ideen dafür bekamen. Dann hatten wir am Samstag unser Nachbar Brunch das aus allen Nähten platzte und unseren kompletten Tisch füllte so das ich einen kleinen Hocker herbeiholen musste um an einer ecke einen Platz zu finden. Das ist ein gutes Problem!! Am Sonntag Abend hatten wir dann noch eine SUperbowl Party mit unserer Kirche. Das American Football Team 49ers von San Francisco war im Finale was es dann auch noch mehr spannend machte. Aber leider haben sie verloren. Unsere Zeit war aber trotzdem super.

Vergiss diese Woche nicht Gott um Leitung zu bitten und nicht nur am Anfang eines Projektes sondern über den ganzen Weg und bei jeder wichtigen Entscheidung!

We hope you had a wonderful week!! Our week was busy in a good way. We had our quarterly meeting with other ministry leaders from the bay area and it was encouraging as usual. We also were able to connect in a deeper way with our community here. A very good week. And Jen and went out on a date night together which was really fun.

Remember to look at your thoughts and the things you focus on and make sure to focus on Jesus!

Wie war deine Woche? Wir hoffen doch mal super. Unsere hier war gut. Wir hatten unser vierteljährliches Meeting mit Leitern von anderen Arbeiten im Bay area. Es war wie immer ermutigend. Und dann konnten wir auch wieder verschiedene Beziehungen in unserer Wohngegend vertiefen was auch ein Segen war. Jen und ich fanden in allem auch noch Zeit für ein kleines Date was toll war.

Vergiss diese Woche nicht auf deine Gedanken zu schauen und die Dinge auf die du deinen Fokus legst und stell sicher das sie mehr und mehr auf Jesus liegen.

[:en]All my life you have been faithful [:de]Mein ganzes Leben lang warst du treu[:]

[:en]Recently I was listening to a worship song called Goodness of God. One of the lines is “All my life you have been faithful”. I love that truth in that line that God is always faithful.

But In a world where we see unfaithfulness and betrayal all the time its easy to fall into a pit and start thinking and believing that God might not be faithful either. We might look back at our life and look at the moments of failure and hard times we went through and wonder Is God really faithful? Maybe we started to believe a lie: Because we got sucked into the world and started being faithless we blew his faithfulness and now He might not be faithful either anymore.

In 2.Timothy 2.13 it says: If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for he cannot deny Himself.

So Paul makes a clear statement about God here in Timothy God will and cannot deny Himself. He will always be faithful. We see that through the whole bible how even people failed and things in the world went wrong, God was still faithful and stayed true to his promise. So when we look back in our life, we have to look with the truth of this statement. We have to look at the moments in our life where we feel God hasn’t been faithful and ask him to show us the truth about this situation. If he doesn’t show us anything about a specific case we have to come back to the truth He cannot be unfaithful.

When I look back at my own life I see moments where things were really hard. There were times were I was bullied in school were friends walked away from me, God never did. He was right with me in those hard moments. Why did those things happen then you might ask. People have free will and make choices. Some of them affect others in a bad way. But even when that happens God is still right there with us and he is still faithful. He is faithful in the good and bad moments in our life.

We want to encourage you to look back at your life and first see all the clear moments where god has been faithful in your life and write them down. Then after you did that,  go in Prayer together with him to the places where you believe he hasn’t and let Him speak to you. It will change your life!!

We hope you had a wonderful week! Jen and i enjoyed our vaccation and are back starting this week. Sometimes we all need a break and this one was so refreshing for both of us. We hope you got a good break too recently!!

Remember this week to look at your life and write out the moments you remember where God was faithful and ask him about the ones where you think he wasn’t!

 [:de]Vor kurzem hörte ich mir ein Lobpreis Lied an mit dem Titel „Goodness of God“. Eine der Liedzeilen sagt „All my life you have been faithful. Mein ganzes Leben lang warst du treu.” Ich liebe die Wahrheit in diesen Zeilen das Gott immer treu ist.

Aber in einer Welt in der wie Untreue und Betrug ständig sehen ist es einfach in eine Grube zu fallen und anfangen zu denken und zu glauben das Gott vielleicht auch nicht treu ist. Wir schauen vielleicht zureuck auf unser Leben die Momente des Versagens und der schweren Zeiten durch die wir gegangen sind und wundern uns ist Gott wirklich treu? Vielleicht haben wir angefangen diese Lüge zu glauben: Da wir vielleicht zu viele Fehler in der Welt gemacht haben und untreu wurden haben wir es uns auch mit seiner Treue vertan und nun ist Er auch nicht mehr treu gegenüber uns.

Im 2. Brief an Timotheus 2.13 (Hoffnung für alle) sagt es folgendes: Sind wir untreu, bleibt Er doch treu, denn Er kann sich selbst nicht untreu werden.

Paulus macht hier im Timotheus Brief eine klare Aussage über Gott; Gott kann sich nicht selbst untreu werden. Er wird immer treu sein! Wir sehen das durch die ganze Bibel hindurch. Selbst wenn Menschen versagten und die Welt untreu wurde, Gott stand immer treu zu seinen Versprechen. Wenn wir auf unser Leben zurückschauen, müssen wir mit der Wahrheit dieser Aussage zurück schauen. Wir müssen zu den Momenten zurückschauen wo wir glauben das Gott nicht treu war und ihn nach der Wahrheit in dieser Situation fragen. Falls er uns nicht für jede Situation eine Antwort gibt müssen wir zu dieser Wahrheit zurückkommen das er nicht untreu sein kann.

Wenn ich auf mein eigenes Leben zurück schaue, sehe ich Momente die sehr schwer waren. Da waren Zeiten wo ich in der Schule gemobbt wurde und Freunde sich in dem Moment von mir abwandten, aber Gott war immer da. Du wirst dich vielleicht fragen wieso sind diese Dinge passiert? Menschen haben einen freien Willen und treffen Entscheidungen. Manche von ihnen beeinflussen andere negativ. Aber selbst wenn dies passiert ist Gott direkt bei uns an unserer Seite und ist treu. Er ist treu in den schlechten und guten Momenten in unserem Leben.

Wir möchten dich ermutigen auf dein Leben zurückzuschauen und zuerst all die klaren Momente zu finden wo du Gottes treue erlebt hast und sie dann aufzuschreiben. Nachdem du das getan hast bete und gehe zusammen mit Ihm zu den Momenten wo du glaubst dass Er nicht treu war und lass Ihn zu dir sprechen! Es wird dein Leben verändern!!

Wie war deine Woche. Jen und ich fuehlen uns ganz erfrischt nach einigen freien Tagen. Ich glaube das ist gut fuer jeden von uns von Zeit zu Zeit. Konntest du in letzter Zeit Zeit finden dich zu erholen?

Vergiss diese Woche nicht auf dein Leben zurück zuschauen und die Momente herauszuschreiben an die du dich erinnerst wo Gott treu war. Anschließend bete und frage ihn über die Momente wo du denkst das er nicht treu war!

Jen and I are excited for this new year and the things God has planned for it. Every year we pray either at the end or the beginning of the new year and ask God for words for the year. It is always exciting to look back and see how God moved. Take some time out of your week and spend some time praying for this new year!

Willkommen im Jahr 2020. Wir hoffen du hattest eine schöne Feier!! San Francisco hat jedes Jahr ein großes Feuerwerk  das die Stadt organisiert und es ist jedes Jahr toll.

Jen und ich freuen uns schon auf dieses neue Jahr und die Dinge die Gott geplant hat. Wir beten jedes Jahr entweder am Anfang oder am Ende des letzten Jahres für Worte fürs neue Jahr. Es ist immer spannend wie wir dann im Rückblick sehen wie Gott gewirkt hat. Verbring doch auch ein wenig Zeit im Gebet für dieses neue Jahr!!

Vergiss diese Woche nicht deine Stärke dafür einzusetzen um jemand anderem auszuhelfen!!

[:en]This is the last blog of the year 2019. As the year comes to an end its time to look forward to the new year and that is exactly what we are doing. Every year a group of different Christians that encourage to read the bible pray together and choose a verse for the year. This year’s verse is in Mark 9.24. So be inspired through the video where we will talk more about it!!

We hope Christmas was a time of family, community, and reflection for you. A time to be inspired and encouraged about the love that God has for us that he sends his son into the world as a baby for his plan of redemption. What a wonderful father we have! We hope that the love of the father reflects through ours and your lives to our and your neighbors so they can find his love for themselves. We truly love all the people around us and we just want them to know more and more of the love of God because it really changed our life!

Don’t forget this week to reflect on your life and look at the areas where you have a lack of trust and ask God to increase your trust in those.

Markus and Jen[:de]Dies ist der letzte Blog fürs Jahr 2019. Wenn das Jahr sich dem Ende zuneigt ist es Zeit nach vorne zu schauen und das ist genau was wir tun! Jedes Jahr wird von der Ökumenischen Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Bibellesen ein Vers im Gebet ausgewählt, der über das neue Jahr steht. Dieses Jahr ist dieser Vers aus Markus 9.24. Sei ermutigt und inspiriert durch das Video in dem wir mehr darüber sprechen werden.

Wir hoffen Weihnachten war diese Jahr eine Zeit für Familie, Gemeinschaft und eine Zeit der Besinnung für dich. Eine Zeit inspiriert zu werden durch die Liebe die Gott für uns durch die Er seinen Sohn als Baby in diese Welt gesannt hat für seinen Plan der Erlösung. Wie wunderbar ist unser Vater!! Wir hoffen das die Liebe des Vaters durch uns und dich auf unsere und deine Nachbarn reflektiert wird so das auch sie diese liebe für sich selber finden können!  Wir haben eine wahre Liebe für unsere Nachbarn und deshalb wollen wir ihnen auch das Beste das wir haben geben, das was unser Leben verändert hat, Gottes Liebe!

Vergiss diese Woche nicht über dein Leben zu reflektieren und die Bereiche zu finden in denen Unglaube regiert und bitte Gott darum dein Vertrauen in ihn in diesen Bereichen zu stärken.

[:en]Merry Christmas with the Gospels[:de]Frohe Weihnachten mit den Evangelien[:]

[:en]When you open your bible to the first book in the new testament you will notice that the first thing you see is a genealogy of many different people which then lead to Joseph the husband of Marie, the mother of Jesus. This first part would speak to all who love genealogy and history but it also shows how God had a salvation plan for a really long time.

And then it goes into the story about a man that struggled because he found out his soon to be wife is pregnant but not with his child. Next we hear about the angel telling Joseph, that man, in a dream that all is good and that his wife is having the savior of the world. Which then happens a little while after in a barn, a place you would not think of for such an important man to be born.

But the story keeps going and this baby gets his first visit by shepherds (see in Luke), people that were looked down on in this time. God brought the down under first to see Jesus. But then this group of really smart and rich guys comes to visit Jesus as well in this barn and bring him valuable gifts. So God shows that he cares about all people. And that is just the beginning of the story which is followed by an escape.

To this point Jesus hasn’t done anything besides being born. Isn’t that more exciting than any blockbuster, reading about the life of Jesus and how he changed the world. When you read through the gospels the life of Jesus and also his love for us and his calling for our life becomes so much more real. When you go deeper into it you learn about all the prophetic words spoken about Jesus a long time before he lived and how they came true with him. Its amazing.

We want to encourage you to read one of the gospels during this Christmas break. Let Jesus and his life inspire you in a new way. May it bring a deeper hunger for him and his love for you as well as all his children.

May you fall deeper in love with Jesus this season by reading more of his life and love for you!

Markus and Jen[:de]Wenn du deine Bibel aufmachst und das erste Buch im neuen Testament öffnest wirst du feststellen das das erste was du siehst ist ein Stammbaum mit vielen verschiedenen Menschen die dann zu Josef leiten dem Ehemann von Maria, der Mutter Jesus. Dieser erste Teil spricht garantiert zu jedem der Interesse an Geschichte oder Ahnenforschung hat aber er zeigt auch das Gott einen Erlösungsplan für uns seit sehr langer Zeit hatte.

Dann lesen wir über einen Mann der Selbstzweifel hat, da er herausgefunden hat das seine Verlobte schwanger ist aber nicht mit seinem Kind. Als nächstes hören wir dann wie ein Engel zu Josef, diesem Mann, kommt und ihm sagt das alles ok ist und das seine Frau den Erlöser der Welt in die Welt bringen wird. Dies passiert dann kurze Zeit später in einem Stall, ein Ort an dem man nicht erwartet das so eine wichtige Person geboren wird.

Aber die Geschichte geht weiter und das Baby Jesus bekommt seinen ersten Besuch von Hirten (Siehe in Lukas Evangelium), einer Menschen Gruppe die damals kein gutes ansehen hatte. Gott bringt die niedrigsten zuerst um Jesus zu sehen. Als nächstes kommt eine Gruppe von reichen und schlauen Menschen zu Besuch die Jesus jede Menge wertvolle Geschenke bringen. Gott zeigt damit das ihm alle Menschen wichtig sind. Und dies ist nur der Anfang der Geschichte die dann mit einer Flucht weitergeht.

Bis zu diesem Punkt hat Jesus noch nichts gemacht, außer geboren zu werden. Aber ist dies nicht bereits spannender den ein Hollywood Blockbuster, über das Leben von Jesus zu lesen und wie er die Welt veränderte. Wenn du durch die Evangelien liest wird das Leben Jesu, seine Liebe für uns und seine Berufung für uns viel realer. Wenn du dann tiefer gehst lernst du über die prophetischen worte die über Jesus vorausgesagt wurden lang bevor er lebte und wie diese dann durch ihn in Erfüllung gingen. Es ist genial!!

Wir möchten dich ermutigen in deinem Weihnachts Urlaub eines der Evangelien zu lesen. Lass Jesus und sein Leben dich neu inspirieren. Möge es dir einen größeres Verlangen für ihn und seine Liebe für dich bringen als auch für all seine anderen Kinder!!

Wow only 2 more weeks till Christmas. What are your plans for those days? San Francisco is usually getting pretty empty around Christmas since a lot of the people aren’t native to the city. But there are still many here that want to celebrate with someone. On our hill, we always have a meal with our neighbor friends together and it always so much fun. I am sure there are people in your area that have no plans yet on where to go or who to celebrate with! Did you invite someone yet to celebrate Christmas with you!! It’s a great opportunity to let the light of God’s love shine!

Look back at all the topics and implement them into your life. You will see how God can bring change through that!

Wow nur noch 2 Wochen bis Weihnachten. Was hast du für diese Tage geplant? Hier in der Stadt wird es an Weihnachten immer recht leer da viele nicht ursprünglich von San Francisco kommen. Viele suchen aber immer noch nach einem Platz an dem sie Weihnachten mit anderen feiern können. Auch auf unserem Berg feiern wir mit vielen Nachbarn. Garantiert gibt es auch wo du lebst Nachbarn die noch keinen Ort oder Familie haben um Weihnachten zu feiern. Hast du schon jemanden eingeladen mit euch zu feiern? Das ist eine super Möglichkeit um Gottes Liebe leuchten zu lassen!!

Schau dir noch Einmal die Themen an und implementiere mehr von ihnen in dein Leben! Du wirst sehen wie Gott dadurch Veränderung in dir bringen kann!

We hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving celebrations and all the good food related to it! Holidays are a wonderful way to connect with our neighbors. We have had Thanksgiving meals for the last 8 years and its been a blessing every time for us and the people who came. It started small but grew bigger and bigger. Just keep inviting neighbors. You will see how blessed it is and how much closer relationships get through it!

Ask God to help you to step into your calling! Its not just important for you, but it is important for the world!

Wir hoffen du hattest eine tolle Woche. Letzte Woche feierten wir Thanksgiving hier in Amerika. Feiertage sind eine super Möglichkeit um mit Nachbarn in Verbindung zu kommen. Wir hatten in den letzten 8 Jahren immer ein Thanksgiving, Weihnachts und Oster essen und es war jedes Mal ein Segen für uns als auch für alle die kamen. Es fing klein an und wuchs jedes Jahr. Lade einfach deine Nachbarn ein! Du wirst sehen wie es auch für dich zum Segen wird und wie deine Beziehungen zueinander vertieft werden!!

Bitte Gott darum dir zu helfen in deine Berufung zu treten. Es ist nicht nur wichtig für dich sondern für die ganze Welt!
