When Jesus called us to love our neighbor, he gave us a task that is possible for each one of us and is also a blessing for each one of us. Many people around us might feel isolated or don’t feel a sense of belonging (maybe including us), and each one of us can bring change to that. You will see how loving your neighbor will change those things and also the relationships but also how it will give you a greater love for the people around you. It will leave a great impact and it builds a strong and lasting community for your neighbors and you as well to just name a few things. When I think back to last year and how the pandemic affected everyone around the world we saw more and more 1. the need of bringing God’s love to our local places and 2. How important it is to be connected with our neighbors. We got reminded of the call from Jesus also because our neighborhoods were the only places we could go to. So let’s all do this together starting today to take Jesus seriously and love our neighbor. We will give you a monthly tip with how to establish that relationship and love your neighbors in a practical way and then we will all put it into action with the neighbors right around us.  And then watch how over time your neighborhood will change! You, me, and all of us can do it so let’s do it!!

It was so wonderful to spend time with our YWAM Community during our twice a year Review and Eval last week. Having time with them and get new perspective and encouragement is such a blessing. We all need a community like that. We want to encourage you to find a community that encourages you and helps you grow. Outside of that special time we had a pretty usual week.

How was your week?

We also want to keep encouraging you to keep praying with us for the things going on in the world. Let us all make a difference in small things like with the monthly love your neighbor tip to carry a neighbors groceries inside for them. Small things like these change our neighborhoods and if we all do them those small things will change the world!

Als Jesus uns dazu berufen hat unseren Nächsten (Nachbarn) zu lieben, gab er uns eine Aufgabe die für jeden von uns möglich ist und gleichzeitig auch ein Segen für uns ist. Es wird einen großen Eindruck hinterlassen und eine starke Gemeinschaft aufbauen für dich und sie um nur einige Dinge zu nennen. Wenn ich zum letzten Jahr zurückdenke und wie die Corona Virus Situation jeden auf der Welt traf sah man auch mehr und mehr 1. wie wichtig es ist die Liebe Gottes auch zu unseren Wohngebieten zu bringen und 2. Wie wichtig es ist mit unseren Nachbarn verbunden zu sein. Es war eine gute Erinnerung an Jesus Auftrag speziell auch deshalb da wir nicht wirklich woanders hingehen konnten. Lasst uns dies zusammentun und Jesus Auftrag unseren Nächsten/ Nachbarn zu lieben ernst nehmen. Wir werden jeden Monat einen Tipp posten wie Beziehungen aufgebaut werden können und wie wir praktisch unsere Nachbarn lieben können. Und dann werden wir das ganze aktiv mit unseren Nachbarn leben. Dann pass auf und sehe wie sich mit der Zeit deine Wohngegend verändert! Jeder von uns kann es tun deshalb lasst uns aktiv werden, Du, ich und jeder einzelne von uns!!

Es war wunderbar diese Woche Zeit mit unseren YWAM Freunden zu verbringen während unserem halbjährlichen Evaluations Meetings. Es ist immer so super neue Perspektive von anderen zu hören und ermutigt zu werden. Wir brauchen alle Gemeinschaft wie diese. Wir moechten dich ermutigen eine Gemeinschaft von Menschen zu finden die dich ermutigt und dir hilft zu wachsen. Ausserhalb dieser speziellen Zeit war es eine normale Woche.

Wie war deine Woche?

Wir möchten dich ermutigen auch weiterhin zusammen mit uns fuer die Dinge die gerade in der Welt passieren zu beten. Und lasst uns alle im kleinen einen Unterschied machen wie im monatlichen Tip jemandem zu helfen Lebensmittel ins Haus zu tragen. Kleine Dinge wie diese verändern deine Wohngegend und wenn wir alle diese kleinen Dinge tun sehen wir wie es die Welt verändert!

How are you?

One of the things I have seen over and over again is the need of belonging and being loved. The Pandemic magnified that need even more than ever before. It doesn’t matter which gender, social status or nationality, just to name a few, everyone needs it. Through things like a conversation out on the sidewalk or on the kids playground, a phone call or having a meal together we have been able to give and receive that in the last week. When I think of Jesus and his disciples I can see how he calls them to follow him and invites them into his life. He gives them a place to belong, be loved and a place to grow. I want to encourage you to connect with neighbors in simple ways and show them love and out of that give them a place to belong and be blessed in return with it too.

Our love your neighbor tip for this month could actually be a good starter for that too. So Organize a time to talk with neighbors about how to improve the neighborhood together!

Wie geht es dir?

Eine Sache die ich wieder und wieder sehe und die jeder Mensch braucht ist Gemeinschaft/ Zugehörigkeit und geliebt zu sein. Die ganze Corona Situation hat dies noch mehr gezeigt als je zuvor. Ganz egal was für ein Geschlecht, gesellschaftlicher Status oder Nationalität, um nur einige zu nennen, jeder braucht es. Durch Dinge wie ein Gespräch auf dem Gehweg oder dem Spielplatz, einem Telefonanruf oder zusammen essen konnten wir dies in der letzten Woche geben und erhalten. Wenn ich an Jesus und seine Jünger denke, sehe ich wie er sie aufruft mit ihm zu gehen und sie damit in sein Leb einlädt. Er gibt ihnen einen Platz der Zugehörigkeit, der Liebe und einen Platz zum Wachsen. Ich möchte dich ermutigen mit deinen Nachbarn auf einfachem Weg in Kontakt zu kommen, ihnen dadurch Liebe und einen Ort der Zugehörigkeit zu schenken und im Gegenzugerleben darfst wie auch du damit gesegnet wirst!!

We hope you had a wonderful first week in 2022. We are excited for the things God will do this year. One of the things we will start doing in February is having a monthly love your neighbor conversation. We love our neighbors and for Christmas we always want to do something special for them so we started a tradition to bake brownies and give out a Christmas card. We usually bake around 100 brownies. This year we we weren’t sure how it will all work out with Caleb around but it all worked. We handed out over 100 brownies and cards. Everyone felt so blessed and loved. Some of them got to see Caleb and that brought extra joy. The brownie and the card are nice but what really speaks to people is that they are important to you and that you value them. That shows your love and the love of Jesus through you. We want to encourage you to bring joy and hope to your neighbors in this Christmas season! You have between 1 and 1.5 weeks left depending when you read this bless them with something small like a Christmas card, like in the video blog above, with some homemade baked things! You are a blessing to your neighborhood!!

Wie lieben unsere Nachbarn und zu Weihnachten wollen wir immer etwas Spezielles für sie machen. Deshalb haben wir eine Tradition angefangen Brownies zu backen und eine Weihnachtskarte für sie zu kreieren. Wir backen normalerweise 100 Brownies wussten aber nicht wie es dieses Jahr mit Caleb klappen würde. Aber es klappte perfekt wir gaben über 100 Brownies und Karten an unsere Nachbarn aus und jeder der sie bekam war so glücklich darüber. Alle die Caleb sahen waren extra glücklich. Die Brownies und die Karte sind gut aber was sie zu den Nachbarn sprechen ist das sie uns wertvoll und wichtig sind. Dies zeigt Ihnen deine liebe und die liebe von Jesus durch dich. Wir möchten dich ermutigen Freude und Hoffnung zu deinen Nachbarn in dieser Weihnachtszeit zu bringen. Du hast zwischen 1 und 1.5 Wochen Zeit, abhängig davon wenn du dies liest, um dies zu tun durch etwas kleines wie z.B. eine Weihnachtskarte, wie im Video blog oben, und etwas selbstgebackenes. Du bist ein Segen für deine Nachbarn!!!

We hope your week was a good one!! We are already in November and soon Thanksgiving and Christmas are here. A great season to connect with your neighbors and bless and love on them. After we hosted the love your neighbor workshop last weekend one of the participants wrote on the love your neighbor social network that she had so many conversations with neighbors since. I think one of the big things is that we start thinking about them and intentionally connect. Pick this week 2 neighbors and start regularly praying for them and connect with them intentionally. Build a genuine relationship with them and watch what God does through it!

Also remember our monthly love your neighbor tip and think about who of your neighbors are you gonna invite? I promise you whichever one it is you will bring joy to that person!

Eine wunderbare Zeit um mit Nachbarn in Kontakt zu kommen und ein Segen für sie zu sein. Nachdem wir letzte Woche den Love your Neighbor Workshop unterrichtet haben, schrieb eine Teilnehmerin auf dem Love your Neighbor Social Network wie sie diese Woche so viele Gespräche mit Nachbarn hatte. Es ist wichtig das wir an unsere Nachbarn denken und bewusst mit ihnen in Kontakt kommen. Wähle diese Woche 2 Nachbarn und fang an regelmäßig für sie zu beten und bewusst mit ihnen in Kontakt zu kommen. Baue eine wahre Freundschaft auf und sei gespannt wie Gott dadurch wirkt!

How are you?

This week was sad and happy at the same time. First of we were able to have a bbq with 2 of our neighbors on our deck which was amazing! It felt more like normal again to connect with neighbors in the way we always did before. This week our whole street also had a Goodbye for one of our long term neighbor friends. He lived here for 49 years and was such a big part of the neighborhood. It was wonderful to celebrate him, but in the same way sad to see him move. Pray for a good start for him at his new spot.

No matter if you have a neighbor that is here for a short time or a long time, make sure to invest in relationship. And also fitting with our monthly love your neighbor tip at the beginning of the blog, maybe start that relationship or make it go deeper by bringing over something home baked!! So think about what you gonna bake, come up with a simple plan when and then do it!!

Viele Menschen in unserem Umfeld fühlen sich oftmals einsam oder haben nicht das Gefühl das sie dazugehören (vielleicht fühlen wir uns auch selber manchmal so) und jeder von uns kann Veränderung in diesem Bereich bringen. Du wirst sehen wie sich diese Dinge und die Beziehungen mit Nachbarn verändern wenn wir sie lieben, und wie auch wir selber eine größere Liebe für unsere Nachbarn haben. Es wird einen großen Eindruck hinterlassen und eine starke Gemeinschaft aufbauen für dich und sie um nur einige Dinge zu nennen. Wenn ich zum letzten Jahr zurückdenke und wie die Corona Virus Situation jeden auf der Welt traf sah man auch mehr und mehr 1. wie wichtig es ist die Liebe Gottes auch zu unseren Wohngebieten zu bringen und 2. Wie wichtig es ist mit unseren Nachbarn verbunden zu sein. Es war eine gute Erinnerung an Jesus Auftrag speziell auch deshalb da wir nicht wirklich woanders hingehen konnten. Lasst uns dies zusammentun und Jesus Auftrag unseren Nächsten/ Nachbarn zu lieben ernst nehmen. Wir werden jeden Monat einen Tipp posten wie Beziehungen aufgebaut werden können und wie wir praktisch unsere Nachbarn lieben können. Und dann werden wir das ganze aktiv mit unseren Nachbarn leben. Dann pass auf und sehe wie sich mit der Zeit deine Wohngegend verändert! Jeder von uns kann es tun deshalb lasst uns aktiv werden, Du, ich und jeder einzelne von uns!!

Wie geht es dir?

Die letzte Woche war eine frohe aber gleichzeitig auch eine traurige. Wir starteten sie indem wir zusammen mit 2 Nachbarn auf unserem Deck grillten. Wir hatten eine super Zeit. Es fühlte sich wieder so an wie vor der Pandemie wo wir ständig Nachbarn bei uns zuhause hatten. Dann später in der Woche hatten wir mit der ganzen Straße eine Verabschiedung Feier für einen unserer ersten Nachbar Freunde in der Gegend.  Er lebte hier für 49 Jahre und wurde ein großer Teil unserer Straße. Es war wunderbar ihn zu feiern aber gleichzeitig auch traurig ihn wegzuziehen zu sehen. Betet für einen guten Start für ihn an seinem neuen Wohnort.

Ganz egal ob du einen Nachbarn hast der für kurze oder lange Zeit neben dir wohnt, investiere in diese Beziehung! Und ganz passend dazu ist unser monatlicher Love your neighbor, liebe deinen Nachbarn Tip am Anfang des Blogs, baue eine Beziehung auf oder vertiefe eine Beziehung indem du etwas für deine Nachbarn backst. Denk darüber nach was du backen möchtest und plane eine Zeit zu backen und es dann zu deinen Nachbarn zu bringen! Und los geht’s!!

It will leave a great impact and it builds a strong and lasting community for your neighbors and you as well to just name a few things. When I think back to last year and how the pandemic affected everyone around the world we saw more and more 1. the need of bringing God’s love to our local places and 2. How important it is to be connected with our neighbors. We got reminded of the call from Jesus also because our neighborhoods were the only places we could go to. So let’s all do this together starting today to take Jesus seriously and love our neighbor. We will give you a monthly tip with how to establish that relationship and love your neighbors in a practical way and then we will all put it into action with the neighbors right around us.  And then watch how over time your neighborhood will change! You, me, and all of us can do it so let’s do it!!

How are you?

Our week here was a bit of a whirlwind. Jen attended a memorial of a friend from her book club with some very influential leaders in the city. She was able to share with everyone an experience her friend had with Jesus before she died. Everyone was encouraged. Then we had a second memorial for a friend who passed unexpectedly from our small group. He just got baptized in July and was so on fire for Jesus.  I want to ask you to keep all the people that attended the memorial where Jen shared and the family and friends of our small group in your prayers, especially in this time of their grief.

We also had some not so sad moments this week with a picnic with our encouragement group. We met all up together in the park and enjoyed each others company. It was a wonderful time.

Remember this week to write an encouraging card or note to your neighbor!

Wie geht es dir?

Unsere Woche hier war ein wenig anders. Jen an einer Gedenkfeier für eine Freundin aus ihrem Buch Club Teil welche von sehr vielen Einflussreichen Leuten besucht wurde. Sie konnte dort ein Zeugnis davon geben wie Jesus ihre verstorbene Freundin berührte bevor sie verstarb. Alle im Raum waren ermutigt. Dann hatten wir noch eine 2. Beerdigung von einem Freund aus unserer Kleingruppe der unerwartet verstarb. Er hat sich erst im Juli taufen lassen und war Feuer und Flamme für Jesus. Ich möchte dich bitten mit uns für seine Familie und Freunde und für die ganzen Menschen die die andere Gedenkfeier besucht haben in dieser Zeit der Trauer zu beten.

Wir hatten auch einige nicht traurige Momente mit einem Picknick mit unserer Ermutigungsgruppe. Wir haben uns alle im Park getroffen und die Zeit miteinander genossen. Eine super Zeit.

First we want you to remember that you are amazing and loved!! Also we really hope you had a wonderful week!!

We had a wonderful week here in San Francisco. We had our first in person meetup of our church small group in the park this week which was wonderful. We all had a picnic together and just spend time encouraging each other. Its awesome how God encourages us through others. I was also working on our love your neighbor social which is more and more coming together. We will host another workshop in just a few weeks and for that one we want to have some more things set up on it.  So keep me in your prayers since I don’t have a tech degree and kind of figure everything out along the way J.

We as a family do well too. Caleb is still working on sleeping a bit more during the night so that his parents get to sleep more too but that will also eventually happen. We love that little boy.

Zuerst möchten wir dich daran erinnern das du wunderbar und geliebt bist! Wir hoffen, dass du eine wunderbare Woche hattest!

Wir hatten eine tolle Woche hier in San Francisco. Wir trafen uns zum ersten Mal in Person in einem Park mit unserem Hauskreis von unserer Gemeinde seit alles wieder offen ist. Wir hatten ein Picknick zusammen und verbrachten Zeit damit uns gegenseitig zu ermutigen. Es ist wunderbar wie Gott uns durch andere ermutigen kann. Ich arbeitete auch weiter an dem Love your Neighbor Online Sozialnetzwerk welches mehr und mehr zusammenkommt. Wir freuen uns darauf dies als einen Ort zu haben wo wir uns gegenseitig ermutigen und inspirieren können unsere Nachbarn zu lieben. Wir haben jede Woche einen Tip wie und viele Wege wie wir miteinander verbunden bleiben können. Eine weitere spannende Sache ist das wir in wenigen Wochen unseren nächsten Workshop unterrichten. Dafür wollen wir das mehr und mehr Dinge auf dem Network bereit sind so dass die Teilnehmer direkt in ihre Gruppe kommen können. Betet für mich das ich all die Dinge fertigstellen kann ohne einen Abschluss in Computer Technik, ich lerne das meiste während ich es tue J .

Uns als Familie geht es auch gut. Caleb wächst unheimlich schnell und es ist spannend dies zu sehen. Wir lieben unseren kleinen Jungen.

How are you?

This part of the year is such a wonderful time in San Francisco. The sun is out but it is not too hot but just right. We love it! Cause of the weather we were able to take Caleb outside on a few walks which he really enjoyed and through that more neighbors could see him. Its amazing seeing how much joy he brings to everyone that sees him.

We also finished up the work to be able to launch the Love Your Neighbor online community before we had the workshop last Friday. We are excited to see how it will help people to connect and exchange ideas with each other and encourage each other to love their neighbor together! If you are interested to join send us an email and we will email you a link to sign up! We have a weekly tip on how and also have a zoom call to connect on that topic for everyone who is interested. The love your neighbor workshop was also wonderful. We had 27 people that joined and felt encouraged. Thank you God. What a great week.

Diese Jahreszeit ist eine wunderbare Zeit in San Francisco. Die Sonne scheint aber es ist nicht zu heiß sondern einfach angenehm. Wir lieben es! Mit diesem Wetter hatten wir die Möglichkeit mit Caleb nach draußen zu gehen und dadurch mehr Nachbarn sehen. Es ist schön zu sehen wie er jedermann Freude bringt der ihn sieht.

Wir konnten die Aufbau Arbeit an der Love Your Neighbor Online Community abschließen um sie dann rechtzeitig zum Workshop zu starten. Wir sind gespannt darauf zu sehen wie sie Menschen helfen wird Ideen auszutauschen, mit einander in Verbindung zu sein und sich gegenseitig zu ermutigen ihre Nachbarn zusammen zu lieben. Wir haben einen wöchentlichen Tipp wie wir es tun können und dann einen Zoom call um sich über diesen Tipp auszutauschen für alle die Interesse haben. Der Love your Neighbor workshop verlief auch super. Wir hatten 27 Teilnehmer die am Ende ermutigt waren. Danke Herr!! Was für eine tolle Woche.
