Last week we started this series with writing about the issue that 7 out of 10 Americans don’t know there neighbor. For the next weeks we want to give you some helpful tips on how to change that.

To get to know neighbors we have to start the initial contact. It can be as simple as saying hello and asking how they are doing. When we moved to North Beach we made an effort to say hello to people that live around us. Sometimes we saw them in front of their house cleaning or we meet them while they walked around. A simple hello and name exchange started to build a relationship. The next time we saw our neighbors we could actually call them by name.  We also know that this can be harder if you live in a suburb where people drive back from work right into their garage, but even there you can still do it. Just walk up to their house ring the bell and introduce yourself as the neighbor. It opens up conversation.

This is the challenge for this week:

1. Set aside time to say hey to your neighbors
2. Take an effort and meet your immediate neighbors by just introducing yourself

Hey our friend

We hope you had a wonderful week. We celebrated independence day with a barbecue to which we invited our neighbor friends and other friends from the city. It was a wonderful time!

We also had many great dinners this week at our house with Pastor friends. It was a wonderful time. It is always fun to spend time with like minded friends.

Please keep our encouragement group in your prayers. We want to see the concept spread to different areas and see people start them. But for that to happen we have to write a how to. Pray for Gods guidance in that.

Markus and JenLetzte Woche schrieben wir darüber das 7 von 10 Amerikanern nicht ihre Nachbarn kennen und dies war auch der Anfang zu einer Reihe von Blogs um dies zu ändern. In den nächsten Wochen werden wir Dir dafür einige hilfreiche Tips geben!

Um unsere Nachbarn kennenzulernen müssen wir den ersten Kontakt aufbauen. Es kann ein ganz einfaches Hallo sein und die Frage wie es ihnen geht. Als wir nach North Beach gezogen sind machten wir es uns zur Priorität zu Nachbarn Hallo zu sagen die neben uns wohnen. Manchmal trafen wir sie vor ihrem Haus während sie die Blume gossen oder wenn sie auf einem Spaziergang durch die Gegend gingen. Ein einfaches Hallo und ein Namensaustausch baute eine Beziehung auf. Als wir die Nachbarn das nächste Mal sahen konnten wir sie mit Namen ansprechen. Falls du die Nachbarn nicht auf der Straße triffst, klingle einfach an ihrer Tür und stelle dich als ihr Nachbar von. Dies eröffnet ein einfaches Gespräch.

Und hier eine Herausforderung für deine Woche:

1. Nehme dir Zeit um Hallo zu deinen Nachbarn zu sagen
2. Mache den ersten Schritt und lerne deinen direkten Nachbarn kennen indem du dich vorstellst.

Hallo unser/e Freund/in

Wir hoffen das du eine super Woche hattest. Wir feierten am Samstag den amerikanischen Unabhängigkeitstag mit unseren Nachbarn indem wir zusammen grillten. Es war eine super Zeit!

Wir hatten auch mehrere Abendessen mit befreundeten Pastoren denen es auch am Herz liegt Veränderung in ihre Gegenden zu bringen. Es war eine wunderbar ermutigende Zeit.

Bitte bete für unsere Ermutigungs Gruppe. Wir möchten dass dieses Konzept sich verbreitet und andere auch Gruppen starten. Aber dass dies passieren kann müssen wir eine Beschreibung schreiben wie es geht. Bete das Gott uns darin leitet.

Es ist ein Segen dich zu kennen.
