His role may have also played a big role in bringing revival to the nation with finding the torah again during his time. Be inspired and encouraged by this prophet!

How are you?

During our time in Jamaica we saw more and more how God gifted certain nations in certain areas, in Jamaica it is definitely prayer. For many years the church had days of prayer and fasting and not just a small group would show up, no but many people. The church of Jens “Jamaican Dad” has probably participate over 100 people on an average Tuesday to pray and fast for 4 hours. And it is amazing to see how much of an impact God made on this island through that and how many people came to know him over the years, but not just that the people that spend more time in prayer with him are also having a closer relationship with him. Over this last season God was speaking to us more about the importance of prayer and fasting and to increase that in our own life and that time really confirmed that. We also want to encourage you to join us in increasing prayer in your life.

After reading through Zephaniah spend some time praying and asking god for revival in todays time. Ask God for your role in that!!

 [:de]Nur noch 4 Blogs bis zum Ende unserer Reise durch die Bibel! Dieses mal haben wir den einzigen Propheten der einen adligen Hintergrund hat. Sein Ur Großvater war König Hiskia. Seine Propheten Rolle hat unter Umständen auch zur einem Revival in Israel geführt da zu seiner Zeit auch die Torah wiedergefunden wurde. Möge dich das Buch dieses Propheten inspirieren und ermutigen.

Wie geht es dir?

Während unserer Zeit in Jamaika haben wir gesehen, wie Gott verschiedene Nationen in bestimmten Bereichen mit Gaben gesegnet hat und in Jamaika ist es definitiv das Gebet. Viele Jahre lang hatte die Kirche Gebets- und Fastentage und es kam nicht nur eine kleine Gruppe, sondern viele Menschen. Die Gemeinde von Jens „Jamaikan Dad“ hat über 100 Menschen im Durchschnitt die dienstags zum Beten und fasten kommen, für 4 Stunden. Und es ist erstaunlich zu sehen, wie viel Einfluss Gott dadurch auf dieser Insel hatte und wie viele Menschen ihn im Laufe der Jahre kennengelernt haben. Aber nicht nur das, nein die Menschen die mehr Zeit im Gebet mit ihm verbringen haben auch eine engere Beziehung mit ihm. In dieser letzten Zeit sprach Gott mehr zu uns über die Wichtigkeit von Gebet und Fasten und hat uns damit ermutigt uns mehr Zeit dafür zu nehmen und diese Zeit in Jamaica hat dies wirklich bestätigt. Wir möchten auch dich ermutigen dich uns anzuschließen und dir mehr Zeit fürs beten und fasten zu nehmen!

Nachdem du das Buch Zefanja gelesen hast verbringe ein wenig zeit darüber für Revival in der heutigen Zeit zu beten. Frage Gott auch was deine Rolle darin ist!

[:en]Why is it important?

When Jesus called us to love our neighbor, he gave us a task that is possible for each one of us and is also a blessing for each one of us. Many people around us might feel isolated or don’t feel a sense of belonging (maybe including us), and each one of us can bring change to that. You will see how loving your neighbor will change those things and also the relationships but also how it will give you a greater love for the people around you. It will leave a great impact and it builds a strong and lasting community for your neighbors and you as well to just name a few things. When I think back to last year and how the pandemic affected everyone around the world we saw more and more 1. the need of bringing God’s love to our local places and 2. How important it is to be connected with our neighbors. We got reminded of the call from Jesus also because our neighborhoods were the only places we could go to. So let’s all do this together starting today to take Jesus seriously and love our neighbor. We will give you a monthly tip with how to establish that relationship and love your neighbors in a practical way and then we will all put it into action with the neighbors right around us.  And then watch how over time your neighborhood will change! You, me, and all of us can do it so let’s do it!!

We hope you had a good week!! We are still gone to visit Jens “Jamaican Dad”. During her growing up years her and her family did a lot of mission work in Jamaica and through that this Jamaican family became family. He also officiated parts of our wedding. He is in his 90s now and we wanted to make sure he gets to meet Caleb. We are excited for this time and what God has in store for it.

Don’t forget to find out your neighbor’s birthday and then to call them on their special day!!

 [:de]Wieso ist es wichtig?

Als Jesus uns dazu berufen hat unseren Nächsten (Nachbarn) zu lieben, gab er uns eine Aufgabe die für jeden von uns möglich ist und gleichzeitig auch ein Segen für uns ist. Viele Menschen in unserem Umfeld fühlen sich oftmals einsam oder haben nicht das Gefühl das sie dazugehören (vielleicht fühlen wir uns auch selber manchmal so) und jeder von uns kann Veränderung in diesem Bereich bringen. Du wirst sehen wie sich diese Dinge und die Beziehungen mit Nachbarn verändern, wenn wir sie lieben, und wie auch wir selber eine größere Liebe für unsere Nachbarn haben. Es wird einen großen Eindruck hinterlassen und eine starke Gemeinschaft aufbauen für dich und sie um nur einige Dinge zu nennen. Wenn ich zum letzten Jahr zurückdenke und wie die Corona Virus Situation jeden auf der Welt traf sah man auch mehr und mehr 1. wie wichtig es ist die Liebe Gottes auch zu unseren Wohngebieten zu bringen und 2. Wie wichtig es ist mit unseren Nachbarn verbunden zu sein. Es war eine gute Erinnerung an Jesus Auftrag speziell auch deshalb da wir nicht wirklich woanders hingehen konnten. Lasst uns dies zusammentun und Jesus Auftrag unseren Nächsten/ Nachbarn zu lieben ernst nehmen. Wir werden jeden Monat einen Tipp posten wie Beziehungen aufgebaut werden können und wie wir praktisch unsere Nachbarn lieben können. Und dann werden wir das ganze aktiv mit unseren Nachbarn leben. Dann pass auf und sehe wie sich mit der Zeit deine Wohngegend verändert! Jeder von uns kann es tun deshalb lasst uns aktiv werden, Du, ich und jeder einzelne von uns!!

[:en]This week we are reading the book of Habakkuk. Habakkuk was coming to Israel as well as a prophet who is supposed to share that Gods people would be taken over by a nation that was not following God. That brought some deep cynicism up for him about God and his ways. But then God gives him a vision that restores his faith. Be inspired by this book that even if things don’t make sense to you to trust God.

Markus and Jen[:de]Diese Woche lesen wir das Buch Habakuk. Habakuk kam als Prophet zu Gottes Volk mit einer Nachricht das sie von einer Nation übernommen werden die Gott nicht nachfolgt. Das brachte einen tiefen Zynismus in sein Leben über Gott und seine Wege. Aber dann gibt ihm Gott eine Vision welche seinen Glauben wieder stark macht. Werde durch das lesen dieses Buches inspiriert das selbst wenn Dinge keinen Sinn machen trotzdem Gott zu vertrauen.

How are you?

In Romans 12.15 it says rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. We were able to walk with people of both sides of this verse during our last week. Both are equally important and are a blessing to the ones you are with. There are seasons in life like it talks about in Ecclesiastes 3.4. and its important to not change them but walk with people in whatever season they are in. We want to encourage you to this with others around you. Ask Holy spirit to guide you in those times.

Also remember from our weekly video blog, In comparison to Nahum we always have the possibility of redemption today through Jesus. Don’t forget to share these good news with people!!

Wie geht es Dir?

In Römer 12,15 heißt es: Freut euch mit den Fröhlichen; trauert mit den Trauernden. Wir konnten während unserer letzten Woche mit Menschen von beiden Seiten dieses Verses sein. Beide Teile sind gleich wichtig und ein Segen für die mit denen wir zusammen durch die Situation gehen. Es gibt Zeiten im Leben von denen in Prediger 3.4 die Rede ist und es ist wichtig sie nicht zu ändern, sondern mit Menschen durch diese Zeiten zu gehen. Wir möchten dich dazu ermutigen, dies mit Menschen in deinem Umfeld zu tun. Bitte den Heiligen Geist dich zu leiten!

Und vergiss auch nicht von unserem Video Blog das wir Im Vergleich zu Nahum heute immer eine Möglichkeit der Erlösung durch Jesus haben. Vergiss nicht diese Gute Nachricht mit anderen zu teilen!!

How was your week? We hope great!! In the last week, we had the opportunity to have dinner with different people. Each of these meals led to wonderful, in-depth conversations. Eating together is a wonderful way to deepen relationships and have a wonderful time together. Make it a goal to invite a neighbor over for dinner this week.

Wie war deine Woche? Wir hoffen super!! In der letzten Woche hatten wir die Möglichkeit mit verschiedensten zusammen Abend zu essen. Jedes dieser essen führte wieder zu wunderbaren tiefgehenden Gesprächen. Zusammen zu essen ist eine wunderbare Möglichkeit Beziehungen zu vertiefen und eine wunderbare Zeit miteinander zu verbringen. Setze dir doch das Ziel diese Woche einen Nachbarn zu einem Abendessen einzuladen.

How are you?

We hope you had a wonderful week! One of the fun things Jen did last week was to bake heart cookies for valentine’s day. She put them in little bags with a little note and blessed different friends on our street. It was so simple to make but was such a blessing to many people. If you read this before Valentines day maybe bake some cookies and give them to your neighbors to bless them and of course eat some of them yourself. Someone has to do the job to try them to make sure they are good 🙂

Also don’t forget to do this month love your neighbor tip together with your neighbors: Serve a local organization together. Do some research and then invite people and sign up. It will be a blessing to all the participants as well as to your community!

Wie geht es dir?

Wir hoffen, du hattest eine wunderbare Woche! Jen hat letzte Woche Herzkekse für den Valentinstag gebacken. Sie steckte sie in kleine Tüten mit einer kleinen Notiz und verteilte sie dann an viele Nachbarn auf unserer Straße. Es war nicht schwierig die Kekse zu backen, aber sie waren so ein Segen für viele Menschen. Wenn du dies vor dem Valentinstag liest, backen doch auch ein paar Herz Kekse und verteile sie als Segen an deine Nachbarn. Und ganz klar vergiss auch nicht einige selber zu essen, weil irgendjemand muss sich ja die Arbeit machen sie zu testen um sicherzustellen dass sie gut sind!

Vergiss auch nicht den Liebe deinen Nachbarn Tipp für diesen Monat: Gemeinsam einer lokalen Organisation zu helfen. Recherchiere etwas was für Organisationen es gibt und lade dann deine Nachbarn dazu ein und melde alle an die dabei sind. Du wirst sehen wie dies ein Segen für alle Teilnehmer als auch für deinen Ort ist!

[:en]Today we arrived at the Prophet Micah in our bible journey. He preached the message of how sin leads to destruction and for people to come back to the law of Moses. Again Micah speaks about judgment but also about God forgiving the people when they repent. Micah also describes the coming time where the messiah will shepherd his people and things will change. May this book speak into your life as well.

If we would have to give this week a title it would be people. We had so many wonderful times with so many wonderful people this week. Hosting a wonderful neighbor brunch at a neighbors place or being at an all day ywam staff meeting, it was wonderful. Jen and I love connecting with people since it is always a blessing for both sides. We want to encourage you to take time to connect with others too. Watch how God let it become a blessing to you and the others.

Markus and Jen[:de]Heute sind wir Buch Micha angekommen auf unserer Reise durch die Bibel. Er war ein Prophet der ein Nachricht predigte wie Sünde zu Zerstörung des Lebens führt und wie die Menschen wieder zu den Regelungen von Mose zurückkommen sollen. Micha spricht über Verurteilung von Gott aber auch davon das Gott vergeben wird, wenn Menschen umkehren und um Vergebung bitten. Micha spricht auch vom Messias und wie er als Schaefer nach seinen Menschen schauen wird und sich dann Dinge ändern. Möge dieses Buch auch in dein Leben sprechen!

Wenn wir dieser Woche einen Titel geben müssten, wäre es Menschen. Wir hatten diese Woche so viele wunderbare Zeiten mit so vielen wunderbaren Menschen. Es war wunderbar, einen wunderbaren Brunch bei einem Nachbarn zu veranstalten oder an einem ganztägigen Ywam-Mitarbeitermeeting teilzunehmen. Jen und ich lieben es, mit Menschen in Kontakt zu treten, da es immer ein Segen für beide Seiten ist. Wir möchten dich ermutigen dir Zeit zu nehmen, um mit anderen Zeit zu verbringen. Du wirst sehen wie Gott es für dich und die anderen zum Segen werden lässt.

[:en]Our story today is about Jonah and how bitterness controlled his life. Be challenged!

How are you?

We hope you had an awesome week!! Ours was wonderful. We started now shortly after we wake up and gave Caleb breakfast to go outside and run and walk as a family up on our hill. We used to do that just Jen and I and after Caleb was born Jen and I at separate times. But now doing that as a family connects us with many more people. Everyone is excited seeing Caleb first thing in the day and he always brightens the day of everyone who gets a smile from him. It is such an easy and simple way to connect with neighbors and now we do it as a family. Spend some time in the morning or at night to go outside for a walk or run. Connect with your neighbors and also do something good for your health!

And now at the end a question to this week’s story to think about: Do we have bitterness in our life that might hold us away from truly wanting others to come back to God? Pray and let God search your heart and show you if something is there and then also bringing healing!!

 [:de]In der heutigen Geschichte geht es um Jona und wie Bitterkeit sein Leben kontrollierte. Sei herausgefordert!

Hallo unser Freund/in

Wie geht es Dir?

Wir hoffen du hattest eine tolle Woche!! Unsere war wunderbar. Wir fingen an kurz nachdem aufstehen und Caleb Frühstück nach draußen zu gehen und als Familie auf unserem Hügel zu joggen oder zu laufen oder zu gehen (kommt auf den Tag an). Früher haben Jen und ich das immer zusammen gemacht, und nachdem Caleb geboren wurde haben Jen und ich es zu unterschiedlichen Zeiten gemacht. Aber jetzt wo wir als Familie unterwegs sind verbindet uns dies nun zusammen mit vielen Nachbarn. Jeder freut sich Caleb gleich morgens zu sehen und ein Lächeln von ihm bekommen. Es ist so einfach und unkompliziert, mit Nachbarn in Kontakt zu kommen, alleine, als paar oder als Familie. Nehmen dir morgens oder abends etwas Zeit, um draußen spazieren zu gehen oder zu laufen. Baue Verbindungen mit deinen Nachbarn auf und tue gleichzeitig auch was Gutes für deine Gesundheit!

Und jetzt am Ende gibt es noch eine Frage zur Geschichte zum Nachdenken von dieser Woche: Haben wir Bitterkeit in unserem Leben, die uns davon abhalten könnte, wirklich zu wollen, dass andere zu Gott zurückkehren? Bete und lass Gott dein Herz durchsuchen und dir zeigen, ob Bitterkeit da ist und dann auch Heilung bringt!!

[:en]From childhood on, we heard the famous story of Jonah and the fish. He is one of the really famous prophets. But he ran away from his calling because he actually didn’t want God to have compassion on that town. It also showed that God’s compassion is not exclusive for Israel but also for others! May by reading this book we have more compassion for people.

Markus and Jen[:de]Seit unserer Kindheit hörten wir wahrscheinlich die Geschichte von Jona und dem Fisch. Er ist einer der sehr bekannten Propheten. Aber er rannte von Gott und seinem Auftrag da er nicht wollte das Gott Gnade für die Stadt zeigt zu der er gehen sollte. Es zeigte auch das Gottes Gnade nicht nur fuer Israel ist sondern er auch Gnade fuer andere Voelker hat. Mögen wir durch das lesen dieses Buches mehr Gnade wie Gott für Menschen haben.

When Jesus called us to love our neighbor, he gave us a task that is possible for each one of us and is also a blessing for each one of us. Many people around us might feel isolated or don’t feel a sense of belonging (maybe including us), and each one of us can bring change to that. You will see how loving your neighbor will change those things and also the relationships but also how it will give you a greater love for the people around you. It will leave a great impact and it builds a strong and lasting community for your neighbors and you as well to just name a few things. When I think back to last year and how the pandemic affected everyone around the world we saw more and more 1. the need of bringing God’s love to our local places and 2. How important it is to be connected with our neighbors. We got reminded of the call from Jesus also because our neighborhoods were the only places we could go to. So let’s all do this together starting today to take Jesus seriously and love our neighbor. We will give you a monthly tip with how to establish that relationship and love your neighbors in a practical way and then we will all put it into action with the neighbors right around us.  And then watch how over time your neighborhood will change! You, me, and all of us can do it so let’s do it!!

Our tip for this month is to take chicken noodle soup to a sick neighbor! Watch the video with some tips on that!

This week we are gone for a vacation that’s why there is no update. But join us this week and moth with our love your neighbor tip to if you hear about a neighor being sick to bring a chicken noodle soup or something else over to them. Showing love and the soup together is a perfect setup for quick healing!

Markus and Jen[:de]Wieso ist es wichtig?

Als Jesus uns dazu berufen hat unseren Nächsten (Nachbarn) zu lieben, gab er uns eine Aufgabe die für jeden von uns möglich ist und gleichzeitig auch ein Segen für uns ist. Viele Menschen in unserem Umfeld fühlen sich oftmals einsam oder haben nicht das Gefühl das sie dazugehören (vielleicht fühlen wir uns auch selber manchmal so) und jeder von uns kann Veränderung in diesem Bereich bringen. Du wirst sehen wie sich diese Dinge und die Beziehungen mit Nachbarn verändern, wenn wir sie lieben, und wie auch wir selber eine größere Liebe für unsere Nachbarn haben. Es wird einen großen Eindruck hinterlassen und eine starke Gemeinschaft aufbauen für dich und sie um nur einige Dinge zu nennen. Wenn ich zum letzten Jahr zurückdenke und wie die Corona Virus Situation jeden auf der Welt traf sah man auch mehr und mehr 1. wie wichtig es ist die Liebe Gottes auch zu unseren Wohngebieten zu bringen und 2. Wie wichtig es ist mit unseren Nachbarn verbunden zu sein. Es war eine gute Erinnerung an Jesus Auftrag speziell auch deshalb da wir nicht wirklich woanders hingehen konnten. Lasst uns dies zusammentun und Jesus Auftrag unseren Nächsten/ Nachbarn zu lieben ernst nehmen. Wir werden jeden Monat einen Tipp posten wie Beziehungen aufgebaut werden können und wie wir praktisch unsere Nachbarn lieben können. Und dann werden wir das ganze aktiv mit unseren Nachbarn leben. Dann pass auf und sehe wie sich mit der Zeit deine Wohngegend verändert! Jeder von uns kann es tun deshalb lasst uns aktiv werden, Du, ich und jeder einzelne von uns!!

Wie geht es dir?

Diese Woche sind wir im Urlaub deshalb gibt es kein Update. Aber seit diese Woche mit dabei beim Liebe deinen Nachbarn Tip in dem du dich umhörst ob irgendein Nachbar krank ist und dann eine Hühnernudelsuppe oder etwas anderes vorbeibringst. Liebe und die Suppe zusammen, ist ein perfektes Setup für eine schnelle Besserung!
